Three ways to get an appointment

Reception takes a lot of calls asking the same question, so here is the short version of how to be seen at the practice.

Book online

Online booking is open at any hour, including when the practice is closed. You can choose your doctor and see the times that are actually free, which is usually quicker than ringing.

Bookings go through two platforms, HotDoc and HealthEngine. The same appointment times are available on both, so use whichever you already have on your phone. Pathology, ultrasound and flu vaccination appointments can be booked the same way.

Call reception

Call during opening hours if you are not sure what kind of appointment you need, if you are booking for several family members, or if something needs explaining before you arrive. Reception can also tell you what a private service costs before you commit to it.

Walk in

Walk-in appointments are available on some days. Call first to check whether there is room, because a walk-in waits behind the booked appointments and delays can build up over a morning.

Telephone consultations

A telephone consultation is an option if you have attended the practice in person within the last 12 months. It suits results, scripts and follow-up rather than anything that needs examining.

In an emergency

None of the above applies in an emergency. Call 000. For advice when the practice is closed, healthdirect runs a free 24-hour nurse line on 1800 022 222.
