Care that follows you
Our GPs, nurses and reception team have looked after families across Westmead and the surrounding suburbs for many years, with a focus on continuity, so you see the same doctor who knows your history wherever possible.
Westmead is one of the most diverse parts of Sydney, and our patients reflect that. We see newborns, growing families, workers managing an injury, and older adults living with several long-term conditions, often across the same afternoon.
A teaching practice
Advance Medical Practice Westmead is an accredited teaching practice. We host medical students from Australian universities during their clinical placements, and you will always be asked before a student is present for your consultation.
New patients
Your first visit
New patients are welcome. A first appointment usually runs a little longer than a standard consultation, because your doctor is building your record from scratch.

Bring your Medicare card
Along with any concession or DVA card. This is what lets us bulk bill your visit.

Bring your medicines
A current list, or the packets themselves, including anything you buy over the counter.

Tell us your history
Past conditions, surgery, allergies and your family history all help your GP build a full picture.

Ask for your records
If you have seen another practice, we can request a transfer of your health summary with your consent.
Your information
Privacy and your records
Your health record is confidential. We collect and hold your information to provide your care, and we handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles and NSW health records law. Information is only shared with other health providers involved in your treatment, or where the law requires it.
You can ask to see your record, request a correction, or ask us to transfer a summary to another practice at any time. Speak to reception or call (02) 9633 4033.
